VizAbility drama group - suspended during COVID-19 crises
Wednesday 10.30am 12:30 at Westgate Chapel, High Street Lewes - email the convenor here
We incorporate dance and puppetry into our performances and divide our time between making costumes, puppets and scenery, rehearsing, recording and performing. It is a small and friendly group.
We occasionally have workshops with other groups such as Fan Dance and go to see shows together and sometimes a Christmas nativity when we invite in extra performers and stage hands.

VizAbility - is a venue based project which started in early 2015. It comes about as a result of pilot research and development work funded by the National Lottery and undertaken in practice based projects such as a Drama Group, Headfirst Contemporary Dance group and film making by disabled people. As a direct result we also created the 'FilmAble' film makers workshops and staged numerous performance events curated and managed by people with disability.
The VizAbility space and concept raises the profile of disability, it creates communication and community building. The VizAbility empowerment space we have created hosts activities that present a positive and creative view of what people with disability can contribute to society and the community. Based at Westgate in Lewes our aim is to utilise a working space to explore, communicate and record. Using video, drama, events, dance and sound we showcase the range of creativity member volunteers undertake. See also www.oysterproject.org.uk www.screenplayers.org.uk |
